VCU Acceptances!

u got it wrong, what they mean is that 30 people are interviewed as high schoolers. Only 15 are entered into the program. Hope it clears it up, did u get in?

reading on the site it still lists several req's u have to fulfill, such as 120 years health-related experience, a semester clinical/research mentorship and some required courses

120 years? haha

sry hours -_-

for whoever it is that is going to be going to vcu, what residentail hall u going to next year.

Can someone please explain this program to me? From what I read on their website, there is no guaranteed admissions for freshmen applying to VCU. I read that sophomores are invited to apply to the medical school at the end of their sophomore year. So how is this a combined BS/MD program?

My oldest son is in his first year at PSU/Jeff. Second son a sophomore and will be applying to combined programs as well, but we originally wrote off VCU because we didnt think it was a combined program. Appreciate any explanation from those who have been accepted. Thanks

catbr, there definately is a combine BD/MD from High School, maybe they also have one with entry from Soph yr. Check the AAMC web site where they list all the combined programs, VCU just listed this year, you may find it there.

Thanks for the reply. Can anyone provide more detail on where you found the specific info on the combined program at VCU. The link from AAMC to VCU is just general. When we phoned the admissions office last year we were told there is no combined program for entering freshmen only the early medical school application option for sophomores.

Catbr,

There is an 8 years program for high School applicants.

There is also another program offered to sophomores. It is called preferred track for medicine.

Contact VCU Honros college . The Assoc. Director is Dr. Chandler. She can give you more information.

Thank you very much, I guess we made the mistake of not talking to someone in honors college 2 years ago. Will definitely keep this on the possible list for my sophomore. THanks again!

good luck!
