VCU chances

I’m going to be a senior in NC next year with a weighted gpa of 3.17 and partial reason for this is hard courses I have taken 12 honors and 4 ap’s I will have 15 honors when I graduate. My act was a 20 but I recently retook it and expect 22 minimum and possibly a 25-26 maximum I can see myself scoring. Thanks in advance for the help.

Which college are you looking at?

@studyhard13 Virginia Commonwealth university

I think if you get at least a 24, you have a good shot-expecting that you have decent EC’s.

@studyhard13 Thanks and I’m not really too sure about my ec’s I volunteered at 2 pharmacy since that is what I would like to do on was a pharmacy for the less fortunate that helped the get the medicine they needed the other was a traditional pharmacy. Altogether I had around 256 hours and hope to have the same since I am doing it again this summer thanks again.

There is a difference between volunteer and EC’s. You should have a couple of decent EC’s to make your application more well rounded ie. clubs, sports, etc…

Do you a need a lot of aid? VCU is not generous with OOS students unless they have very high stats. My OOS D was accepted this spring with a 32 ACT and got decent merit, $14k per year, but with an OOS price tag of 42k, it was still too expensive for us.

I know this is an old thread, but @mamag2855 what was your daughters weighted GPA if you don’t mind me asking?

@Derbydays3 her weighted was around. 4.35 and unweighted around 3.9 , however since high schools tend to weight differently, most colleges will recalculate for the sake of uniformity, and may not include non core courses such as art, physical ed, etc.

@mamag2855 Thank you very much
