My son was selected for verification. He applied to 10 schools. We are still waiting for decisions for 4 of them. One of these has already requested his verification documents. The other three have not. He was admitted to all 6 of the others, and none of them asked for verification until after he got in. I’m just wondering if you think its probable that he was accepted into the college that asked for verification before we know he is accepted? I just find it odd that they would verify his FAFSA if he hasn’t been accepted. Thoughts? Thanks for the help!
It happens all the time. Some automatically verify all financial aid applications for all applicants. Usually the FA office is run separately from the admissions office, and they each do their own jobs and don’t worry about the other office.
It doesn’t mean he’s in.
Verifying financial aid simply means that either you were randomly selected…or that something on your FAFSA seems like it’s not correct.
Send the colleges what they have asked for.
This is not related to admissions.
