Verification worksheets and disbursement

Hi,

This might be a dumb question but this is the first time i'm applying for financial aid. I am currently attending University A but will be transferring to University B in the fall. I've gotten a preliminary financial aid package from University B but not A. I have been asked to fill out a verification worksheet by both universities and i'm a bit confused on how this works. There is a line that asks me to put the school i will be attending but I haven't decided yet, on my fafsa obviously i put both school but how does it work on each worksheet? For university A on the worksheet should i just put University A or University B as well? Same for the worksheet from University B. I don't know how the money is disbursed so i'm not sure how this all works. Who looks at these worksheets? The financial aid officer at each school or does it go to some third party government organization that checks? I don't want one school to see that i might go to another school in the fall from the verification worksheet but if i'm supposed to put it down i guess i will.

Did you receive the verification from the school itself? If yes, fill out the verification sheet and send it back to the school that sent it to you. They are looked at by the financial aid offer at each school.

While you may get an an award letter, if your school requires that you fill out the verification sheet, you will not receive any actual aid until this is done.

Okay so my question is if i’m telling both schools that i’m going there in the fall because i haven’t decided yet, how does my financial aid gets disbursed in the Fall? I wont be deciding for another month. I wouldnt want my aid to get split between two schools or is that not how it works?

The schools are just making you a financial aid offer at this point. The offer is contingent upon you attending that school. Only the school you actually enroll in will disburse any aid.

You cannot receive aid at more than one school at a time, so aid is never split between 2 schools.

On the worksheet for School A, you list the school attending as School A. On the worksheet for School B, you list the school attending as School B.
