That’s an understatement! It’s just a group of self-important people who think that they’ll have a multimillion-dollar career if they’re in one of these “business clubs.” And it makes all the freshmen and sophomores crazy-nervous about getting into a club. It’s just another way to be exclusive and think you’re important. Here’s a study of one: My Ross D is in NO business frats or clubs. She’s already had one great internship and secured another one in October for the upcoming summer. Three friends who are in some of these clubs got zero offers. Anecdotal. But proves that a) being a club member is not required to get a great internship, and b) being a club member does not guarantee getting a great – or any – internship.
There are many opportunities outside of the Ross bubble to join clubs etc that are focused on business and business principals. Many lsa groups do this with actual hands on training with real money /grants.
Principles. Unless you are talking about the individuals who run companies.
And, yes, you are correct. many opportunities. Even if a student does not join any business clubs – Ross or otherwise – a “business” career is not off the table.
