Do you know anyone that transfered from a 2 year college to an Ivy league college? What 2 year college did they go to?

from Foothill College to Columbia

nope .

Phoenix Community College -> UPenn
I haven't formally accepted yet as I am still waiting to hear from Yale.

care to share stats? Also, how did you get your decision so EARLY??!

I know a few people who have gone from a CC to a Ivy League. I don't think it matters much on the school as much as it matters that you work extremely hard while you're their. Last year when I was applying I had wanted to apply to Cornell and at one point I had started working on the Harvard application. I however decided against submitting it for personal reasons, though I believe I had a decent chance at getting in.

martinibluex: College of General Studies @ UPenn. Rolling admissions. Got my letter earlier this week.
I am also applying to Yale's Eli Whitney program. They don't announce decisions until May though.
Feel free to pm me for specific details and I'll be happy to share.

deserthillsguy, are you also an older student if you don't mind me asking?

This qualifies me for the Adult Reentry programs that both UPenn and Yale offer.

oh nice, so what motivated you to go back to college?

i think that you'd be happier at Penn - their program is larger. Did you apply to Columbia?

I have a job that allows me to telecommute. I can basically live anywhere in the US as long as I have internet access. Getting my degree was something I always wanted to do. When I moved overseas though, it became too difficult as I was moving around too much. Anyways, a few months quickly turned into a few years... well you get the idea.... When I returned to the US, I was headstrong on completing my degree. I went to community college and after 2 yrs I have a 3.91 GPA. I start university in the fall. PM me for specific details since I don't want to hijack this thread and make it all about me.

martinibluex: No, I didn't apply to Columbia. The cost of living in NYC makes it unviable for me. Also, Columbia doesn't offer any tuition discounts for their General Studies school. Other than that, it looks like a great program.

Allena were the people you knew from COC? And if they were I am just curious as to what were their 'stats'?
