Hey all, yesterday, a lot of my friends found out their AP scores through their colleges’ admissions portal at places such as UCLA,UCSB,and Sonoma State University.

I was wondering if Cal Poly Portal had a section/tab where it had our AP scores…

I don’t want to spend $8 calling or waiting a few more weeks. Thanks.

^ I’m not seeing a view my poly profile option. All I see is a link to the website where it says the units you can get for passing a certain AP test etc.

I can’t seem to find the registration and enrollment tab. I’ve tried restoring to default layout in case I’ve deleted but I still can’t find it. Not even in the Add Content list. help?

Thanks NBrink. I think it is too soon for freshmen to see that on their portal.

How did your year in Materials Engineering go? My son will begin the program in September. We are all excited about it! Any thoughts or advice? Thanks!

It went well, I can’t really say that I learned terribly much relating to materials engineering from the freshman MatE courses, but I still think I made the right choice of major.

The service learning projects are a good thing, but more to learn how to design and work as a team rather than any materials concepts.

Thanks NBrink. I’m glad you are still happy about your major choice. You should learn more next year about Materials. We were impressed with the people in the department. They all seemed very welcoming and happy, not to mention smart!

How was Cerro Vista? My son is also hoping to live there. he sent things in earlier, so we are thinking he will get in. Anything he should be sure to bring?

Thanks again and I hope you are having a good summer break!

Cerro was great, people say you don’t get to meet as many people in Cerro, and that may be true if you are actively trying to avoid people, but I never felt socially deprived living there.

Slo water is kind of nasty, so a Brita filter or similar would be a good thing to remember, but I’ve lived on well water my entire life, so I’m a little spoiled in that regard. Trash bags are a must, and if your son cooks much he might want to bring a better cutting board, the pull out ones in the apartments were kind of funky.

You are awesome! Thanks for the positive comments about Cerro and the tips. We already got him a Brita pitcher because right now he uses too many water bottles. I will be sure to get a better cutting board and trash bags for them. We have been getting things for awhile now because we are really hoping he gets Cerro. He will like having his own space, but he will definitely be looking for an active socail life as well.
Thanks again!
