Hi! I was wondering if anyone had any input about my chances to be accepted into both Villanova and Lehigh University. Here are some of my stats:
Girl, 17, PA resident
White (ancestors are of European descent)
Go to a large, well-known, public high school (about 3200 students total)
Class ranking: 74 out of 799 (so I'm in the top 10%)
Weighted GPA: 4.3, unweighted: 3.7 (for the weighted GPA scale, it is out of 5.0 but that's almost impossible because in order to achieve that, you have to take ALL honors or AP courses and get 97+ in them all)
ACT composite: 29 (32 English, 27 Math, 28 Science, 29 Reading, 8 Writing)
I take all honors/AP courses with the exception of math. (this doesn't count electives, as many electives don't have the choice of being honors)
I don't know if this is put into the equation, but my IQ is 129 (one point away from officially being "mentally gifted")

My courses for this year:
-American Political and Economic Systems Honors
-Sports & Entertainment Marketing
-AP Environmental Science
-Business Law
-English 12 Honors
-Statistics
-Biology II Honors

I also took AP Language & Composition last year.

Extra curricular:
-Member of JV cross country & varsity track teams
-Member of school newspaper
-Member of a gender equality club
-National Honor Society
-Volunteered for 3 years for a program in which I assist children with autism in playing soccer
-Volunteered at the local library for one year
-Babysit/dogsit on occasion
-Had my first job this summer as a junior counselor in the sports department for a summer camp

I also received the Discus Award Scholarship, which is based off merit.
As for essays, I believe mine were strong and my aim during writing them was to show my moral character to the universities.
I submitted 3 letters of rec, 1 from my guidance counselor (she has told me before that I am one of her best students, so I think the letter will reflect that), and 2 from my other teachers. I didn't read the letters, but I strongly believe that they are positive and will only help me.

For family, we live in a nice area and my family makes probably around $110,000/year (so I'm not really expecting financial aid). I have a legacy at the University of Florida and my grandfather served in the armed forces during the Vietnam era, if that is at all a contributing factor.

Thanks!!! :)
