@FlyerFan1982918 did you apply EA and get deferred?
No @collegemomjam and never formally visited campus.
@FlyerFan1982918 How do you get deferred from Regular Decision. Do you mean waitlisted?
Waitlisted. Double legacy. In state. Was deferred EA. VSB. 27 ACT. 4.35W. Strong EC, leadership and service. Doubtful about waitlist because letter said they would review applicants on wait list at the beginning of May and deposits due by then for other schools that have already sent acceptances. Maybe this makes the decision that much easier. Happy to be waitlisted when others have test scores so much higher. Good luck to all. Do people often say yes to the waitlist??
@FlyerFan1982918 well I guess that explains it. They asked legacies to apply early…and they might have even meant ED not EA, not sure. You have amazing stats I bet you are in or are going to get in lots of great schools. Good luck!
Yes @SO180242
I’m accepted to VSB!!! Super hyped right now!
I’m an international student from Vietnam, male, finance major. Went to high school in the US 10th-12th grade.
1540 SAT superscore (750R&W, 790M). SAT II: Math 2 780, Chem 790, USH 730 (Took USH 11th grade)
GPA UW: 97/100 (don’t know 4.0 scale), 6 APs, 8 honors.
Mediocre recs from teacher, strong rec from outsider, strong essays.
Strong ECs, but nothing business-related really.
My little story: these few days have been super tense for me as I got 4 waitlists in a row in a matter of 3 days (mind you, all these waitlists are from safeties/match school). Only got 2 acceptances from schools that give me no aid, which I will definitely not be able to attend. Just as I’m about to give up on the American Dream and start thinking of other alternatives, Villanova’s acceptance of me came like a lifesaver! I’ve always been somewhat of an agnostic, but I’m officially a believer now. I’m forever grateful.
To those that are accepted: congratulations! I hope we will see each other on campus next year.
To those that are waitlisted/rejected: I feel you. 100%. I’ve been there, so I can’t really tell you to calm down or stop thinking about it. It’s hard, I know. But it doesn’t help, you couldn’t do anything to change the situation. So I’d suggest you to try to limit your anticipation and anxiety. Since my first waitlist from a safety school, I was LITERALLY restless. As a result, I tried meditating, and it does wonders! Cast my thoughts away very swiftly, and I slept (kinda) sound at nights. So cheer up, and your reach school might admit you, just like me! Best of luck to all!
Waitlisted. 32 ACT, 3.9 GPA, 8 AP rest honors. Out of state.
Son waitlisted VSB
Sat 1530 ( one sitting)
Uw gpa 3.84
Course rigour, good recs, debate captain, top high school
Notice they accepted 25%
Of class ed. Son knows kids accepted ed with far lower stats. D says Nova is a “pay to play” school. Based on what i’ve Seen here, I would agree.
S not doing waitlist. Congrats to all accepted !!
Waitlist! 33 ACT, 3.8 GPA, with lots of leadership and extracurriculars. Deferred EA
@sjae18 which school did you apply to please?
@collegemomjam Yes, I do believe it was ED that they said legacies should apply to if they want better chances. My DD just wasn’t set on ED and wanted to see what other schools have to offer. Villanova is in our ‘backyard’ so to say so she wanted to visit colleges from Boston down to NC. Not sure what will happen.
Waitlisted. Double legacy. My parents not very happy… Deferred from Early Action. 1440, 4.2 GPA, good ECs. From NJ - I’m guessing that has something to do with it. Will not accept spot on waitlist. Will probably accept at Richmond where I was offered a very nice scholarship. Congrats to those accepted!
Waitlisted; massive legacy; 8 family
members but 4th choice so didn’t go for the ED; congrats to all; surprised I didn’t get rejected;
Only 1280 SAT; heading south to my #1
@collegemomjam CLAS
Son just called that he was admitted Electrical Engineering.
@Daisy0114 I’m sorry, but can you please explain to me what a “pay-to-play” school is?
