I am trying to decide between Villanova and CU - Boulder. I am a Colorado resident so there is a 30k difference per year.
I want to study business at either school. Obviously, Villanova has a better business school, but I want to know if it is worth the huge difference in costs. Although, I will not be the one paying I want to be considerate to my family despite them saying the cost shouldn’t be a factor. There are a few more factors.
If I attended CU Boulder I would do the 5-year Bachelors and MBA which I believe they have (My brother says he’s doing this program, but I can’t find info on it online.) I also took about 15 credits concurrently from my high school with Arapahoe Community College which I know that CU will accept, but I’m not sure if Villanova will. This is a semester less meaning it would take only 4 and a half years for a master’s.
Would a masters from CU - Boulder be the better choice or would it be better to attend Villanova that has such a strong reputation, and get a master’s later in my life? Thanks for reading, and I appreciate any advice.
CU Boulder’s Business program ranks higher (32) than Villanova’s (63) on US News. Why do you think Villanova has a better business school?
Better School - best college town in the USA - in-state tuition - skiing a short drive away with student priced season passes - I think the answer should be obvious.
Since you’re planning on getting an MBA, where do you do your undergrad won’t matter as much. Unless money is not a factor in your life, I would go to Colorado, finish early and use the money you save to pay for an MBA, and at that point try to enter a more “prestigious” business school (if important to you). It’s hard to justify the $30/year cost of Villanova over CU-Boulder.
I would much rather choose Boulder over Villanova. Plus, academically they’re not THAT far off (Nova 4.5 stars vs Boulder 4). Nova is just much smaller.
I don’t think it’s worth the $120,000 difference. UC Boulder is a fine school.
