Can we get a virtual tour up on the Brown Website. It says its being updated, but that has been the message forever. I want to see my next home :-)

while they update it, you can get a free preview at http://www.theu.com/watch/index.php?region=Ivy%20League&schoolid=20069 first.

Sure, I'll get right on it.

theu is such a ridiculous enterprise--it's actually worst than US news because all the information it gives prospective students is subjective and entirely based on stereotypes

well..you get to see footage of the campus, which is more than what you can get as an international student.

fair enough. you can also check out

Hello All,

My name is Doug Imbruce, and I'm the Founder of THE U, the Company mentioned in this thread. We are at http://www.theU.com and produce a series of DVDs featuring MTV-style video tours of the 50 most popular colleges in the country (we will soon be featuring many more colleges).

Above a user refers to our content as "subjective" and "based on stereotypes." This couldn't be farther from the truth - in fact, each tour is the result of a team of 5 producers and camerapeople spending over a week on each campus, filmed interviews with over 50 students, and email surveys of 500 more.

I started the company while a student at Columbia, and our content has been uniformly well-received. It's sad to think that users removed from the college search and selection process and the true nature of college life make incredibly uninformed judgements on our content. The tours are created by students, for students - and deliver the truth, whether that truth is "stereotypical" or not!

The free tours offered on our web site are extremely abbreviated - our full-length tours are 15-20 minutes each, and feature incredible detail on all aspects of the undergraduate experience.

View a free full-length tour of UCLA at:

Watch UCLA and then come to an informed decision on our content.

We recently conducted an email survey of our users, and out of 500 responses, 88% reported THE U was "Extremely Helpful" in their college search - the other 12% reported we were "Very Helpful."

I'm sure you'll find the same!
