Virtual World Lab

Does anyone here know about this Lab. When my S talks about wanting to do video game development, everyone mentions this Lab, but no one seems to have any indepth knowledge.

I'm wondering if it's more of a showcase or a real development lab.

Is it for developing games or more of how VR is used in other applications?

What kinds of software tools do they have?

What are students doing with it?

Are there classes that utilize the lab or is it more an 'extracurricular' activity?

Well, games can be played there. there are very expensive computers with very big monitors. Three stations with gamecube, playstation 2, and xbox all connected to a digital projector that displays the images on a screen.

People who are taking programming classes have access to it. My friend has his intro to game design course in it. In that course, he learns about elements of a game and even ends up making a game by the end of the semester.

Almost no one uses it for fun because it's a 20 minute walk away from where we live.

I use it for fun every friday at 12:30, myself and like 5 other people. Its a great break in between classes.
Every semesters theres a video game class thats a co-operation with the Comp Sci department the english department Cleveland Institute of Muisc and Cleveland Institute of Art. Its a pretty sweet class.
