hi! i’m a junior visiting bard in a few weeks as a part of a college tour with some friends, but we’re visiting on a saturday when it didn’t seem like any tours were offered. so, besides just walking around campus, is there something that you guys would suggest we do to get a feel of the school?
thanks for your advice! :)

Wander around, go to the student center, read everything posted on the bulletin boards. Go to Blithewood’s lawn and gardens. Walk onto the Parliament of Reality. Poke your head everywhere you can.

Also check inside.bard.edu for the calendar of things happening on campus that day.

Eat lunch at Kline and eavesdrop on student conversations. Check out the library, especially the stacks where the senior projects are located. Find someone from your high school who goes there and get them to show you a dorm room.

Definitely hang out in the Campus Center. Down The Road has good food for you to get and sit there. Manor and Kline are also good places to hang out and get a feel for the campus.

Also: Parliament of Reality, Blithewood, the Fisher Arts center (next to the Campus Center) is great because it showcases students’ artwork, the Fisher Performing Arts Center (near the Parliament of Reality) is fantastic to see and the auditorium is amazing and a place you’ll spend a lot of time in your first year here if you come.

That’s all I can really think of at the moment. People are friendly here, so don’t hesitate to go up to someone to ask them questions about anything about the school or places to see on campus. People will probably show you their dorm rooms if you ask, but keep in mind that every dorm (except for the Toasters which are all modeled in the same way) are INCREDIBLY different, so what you see in one isn’t what you’d get in another. But most rooms are really nice and relatively large, so nothing to be worried about!
