Visiting

I am visiting Harvard this summer, just wondering what to expect! Thanks

It’s a relatively urban school, across the river from Boston…

If you’re a bit more specific about what you’d like to know more about, there are a bunch of people that post here who could help you out.

just about the general structure of the info session/tour. What will we be seing etc. Pretty much just anything you want to tell me, I am pretty excited about going so…thats all I meant

why not visit AFTER you get in? :)

well Im not sure I even want to go to Harvard. Its my 3rd or 4th choice. So I am visiting to see if it will change my mind. I really like MIT. My family is going to be in the Boston area this summer and since I live like 500 miles away, I am going to visit while I am in the area.

Well, for the information session, you wait for a while in this room where they play these videos on a dim screen ([Harvard College Admissions § About Harvard: Learning at Harvard](http://www.admissions.college.harvard.edu/about/learning/index.html)), and then an admission officer comes and speaks to you about the basics of applying to college, something about the shopping week, the residential house system, or whatever it is that the person feels like talking about, then there is usually a question-and-answer session, and then the end. For the tour, you walk around in the Yard while a college student who acts as the tour guide points out the various places like the freshmen dorms and the library, and that’s basically it. It’s honestly not that exciting :P. Like you, I did the whole tour thing last year at Harvard because I was visiting MIT - but unexpectedly, I ultimately ended up choosing Harvard over the other. Visit - you never know what happens.

lol thanks

^^ that sounds good then :)
