Visting Vanderbilt...

I'm making a trip to Vanderbilt University next week with a friend, and along with visiting the college, I'd like to get a sense of the city, and what kinds of things college kids do there. Because I'm staying there for 4 days (3 nights), I will have plenty of opportunities to explore.

Does anyone know specifically what or where I should go in Nashville during my stay? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

If you have a rental car, I would recommend a half-day trip up to Mammoth Cave in Kentucky. It's disgustingly touristy, but if you are into geology, it can be very enjoyable.

There's Hillsboro Village, which is this small stretch of land about five min. from Vandy. It has a bunch of little boutiques, restaurants, and bars. It's quite popular in Nashville.

There's Centennial Park, which is also nearby. The Parthenon's in the park. I recommend it; it's pretty cool.

About ten to fifteen minutes away, there's an area called Green Hills. It's a pretty large, upscale mall surrounded by tiny restaurants.

Are you looking for anything specific?

Check out the Lowess Vanderbilt Hotel.
It's right next to Vandy's campus and a GORGEOUS place to stay. :)

Definitely check that place out...
