Hello W&L students! I was wondering how hard it is to take a class at VMI if they offer something of interest. Do the times work out in your schedule, is it far to walk to VMI, etc.. My daughter will be a freshman next fall and is interested in beginning Arabic. We know that it is sometimes hard to get into that class because it fills with VMI students. She is going to go to an immersion program this summer and hopes to learn enough to place into the next level which is less likely to fill. So have any of you gone down the road to VMI? Any advice would be helpful! Thanks

We know you're out there!

I was waiting to see if someone who knows more than I do would answer. Since they haven't I will tell you what I know. One of my D's roommates takes Arabic at VMI. The walk is not far. The schedules, however, are a little off. At the beginning of the year, it seems like she had to be at school about 2 weeks before most everyone else. Also, at the mid-winter break they just had, she had to stay at school, because VMI did not have the same break. None of that seemed to be a problem for her.

Also, does W&L still close for the entire week at Thanksgiving time?

Yes, they do.
