volunteering @ shands

I’m not sure, hopefully not.

From what I’ve heard, it’s more of an extended orientation than an interview. You meet to set up the time you want to volunteer and such. What time’s you interview bee?

I thought the office opend at 8 too! And thanks ZapadniyRus!

ZapadniyRus- My time is September 1st at 1pm. I actually have a class like 55 minutes later, but that was like the only time they had left, and there was no more spaces in the Pediatric. When’s yours?

My interview is actually during one of my classes.

i started calling at 8 got through at 8:50 woooo!! i got into the dentistry department yaaaayy! i’ve only been in Shands once, it’s so big i always get so lost haha

I was under the impression that they opened at 8 am too! But I called earlier just in case. When I first started calling at 7:30, it was busy. But I kept trying and got in eventually. But at least we’ve learned a lesson in case we have to do this again next year. Luckily I got an interview that wasn’t during one of my classes. Hooray for good karma!

I started calling at 7:30 and they picked up at 8:00 almost exactly. I got an interview for the emergency department on the 29th at 10:00.

^^^ I’ll see you there then, lol… My interview’s at the same time.

Hey guys - the interview is not really an interview, it is more of an orientation where they go over what is expected from you, and what your responsibilities are in your department. It is in a group setting. You also schedule your training time (not all departments have this, though) and you pick a day and time that you will be going to your service area at for the semester.
