<p>Does anyone know of any good, reputable programs for volunteering or teaching English abroad? I'd prefer firsthand accounts (or if you know of one a friend/daughter/son/etc. participated in), as opposed to someone just looking up and posting links (which I can do on my own). Thanks.</p>

<p>I’ve heard Greenpeace has good programs. Though, I don’t have any personal experiencew with them.</p>
<p>As a post-grad program, Fulbright has an extensive ETA (English Teaching Assistantship) program in a couple dozen countries. I applied for Fall 2010 in Spain, and I have a friend currently in Kiel, Germany. Applications are due the fall of every year–check with your University about specific dates/procedures (the application is kind of a MAJOR pain)</p>
<p>If you’re interested in Spain, the Spanish government sponsors about 1000-2000 Language and Cultural Assistants to come from the United States to teach English. Applications should be up early 2010.</p>

<p>It has the information for this year’s grants, I was told applications for 2010-2011 would go up early 2010.</p>
