I hope that you post #57 is NOT implying that kids who go to school outside of elite or " a small, liberal arts school " are not afforded wide range of opportunities. It depends much more on kid than institution. My D is pre-med at regular state school. She comments that her major classes are extremely challenging (she graduated #1 in her HS class) and she has 2 minors in Music Composition and Neuroscience, not because that they somehow will helt her to become an MD but simply because of her interests outside of all science classes / research / volunteering / job. Kids can pursue anything they want at any place and be successful in everything as long as they have desire to do so.</p>
