W&M Physics program

Are there any students out there in the physics program, or anyone who knows a lot about it who can tell me if its a good program, with a fair amount of research opportunities and such?
Thanks!

its amazing

is it better than the physics program at rice?

Don't know, sciences are a strong spot for WM, physics being no exception

Thanks! Looks like thats where im going... w&m physics =)

Rice is a major research university with strong sciences across the board. William&Mary is a public liberal arts university that is strong in humanities and social sciences. If you're picking based on academic strength in physics, go to Rice. If you prefer w&m more, go there.

i would disagree with cavalier on that one, as WM's science programs are superior to the internal liberal arts programs

That goes contrary to everything I've ever heard about W&M's strengths and weaknesses, from alums and current students alike. Regardless, I think Rice is probably "better" in physics, but at the ugrad level, when you're dealing with top schools, it's more important to pick on fit. Rice and W&M are clearly fantastic in many ways, so the OP should pick whichever one he/she would be happiest at.
