Wait-listed

Just wondering if anybody knows the odds on coming off the wait-list and getting in? I was also wondering how many will stay wait-listed?

The FAQ’s section says that over the last 3 years the average number of students who stayed on the waitlist was 1200 per year. Of the 1200, 150 on average were accepted.
More than 1200 are offered a spot on the waitlist. Many just choose to move on with a different school.

RUKidding…there is a 12.5% chance of being accepted off the waitlist. Good luck to you!

It varies from year to year , 2 years ago 494 students were admitted off waitlist.

This data is available on the Common Data Set.

D1 knows of 4 students accepted off waitlist 2 years ago, odds are not good, but why not get on the list?

It makes sense to stay on the waiting list. At local school, three were accepted to Villanova but they will choose Notre Dame and Boston College instead. People who can will usually choose Georgetown, ND, and BC before going to Villanova and so that is why there is ususally movement from the waitlist there.
