Almost all of the places I have applied to have responded by now. I’m accepted to five; the top choice is UNC Chapel Hill. The only one that hasn’t responded is Bryn Mawr. It’s a reach, but still trying to think positive that they may accept me. With that said, has any of the McBride applicants received any notices?
I’ve been in the slow process of applying to LPS college at University of Pennsylvania. Considering that I’m laid-off from work, the thought of sending $70 for an application is a bit wasteful, especially if they reject me or I decide to go to another college. The main draws are the excellent education, financial aid, the same type of diploma that CAS students receive, and a few other reasons.
Another issue with UPenn is the possible lack of classes transferring. My credits are coming from a community college. While I know that not all will transfer to any college, it seems reasonable to want more than half to transfer. Considering that LPS advertises to PTK students, I would hope they would be friendly to the thought of course transfers from CCs.
Could anyone that attended a community college with fifty or sixty credits under their belt enlighten me on their experience with classes transferring to UPenn LPS?
My acceptance to UNC is heavily on my mind because it is one of my top schools. It has probably been on my mind longer than any other school I applied to that was OOS for me. The idea of being four hours from the beautiful OBX is appealing. The aid they gave me is fantastic, but unfortunately 3,500 of my need is not covered by anything. Work study did not even come up in the financial aid package. I recently found out that the unemployment is bad there; worse than my state of Michigan. I need to work while there. Also a few other reasons make me hesitate on UNC.
I hope to drive to some of the colleges within the next two months and make my decision then.
