I went to Oberlin this past weekend for my Conservatory audition and it was my third time visiting =D. I just want this waiting game to end and have the admission letters from the College and Conservatory already! Anyone else feel the same?

P.S. I can't wait to do the waiting game on the colleges, make them wait for our decisions as to whether we are going there or not XD (I'm so mean hehe).

I am so done with waiting. It feels like it’s been forever and I just want to know where I’m going to be next year. It’s so CLOSE…and yet…still three weeks.

On the bright side, we can now count in weeks, not months.

For the past week, I’ve been telling myself, whatever will happen will be for the best.
But honestly, I have a major Math exam on Tuesday and I just can’t stop refreshing my inbox every two hours in hope of an e-mail from any of the colleges I’ve applied to.
And once I will get the e-mail, I will wait a whole hour before I open it.
Darn. The Waiting Game.
Good Luck everybody! :)

Wait, do we know the date yet? Does Oberlin always reply on April 1st?
And do we have to log into an account or something, or does the decision come in an e-mail? :)

Try to push all the anxiety out of your mind. Go visit other colleges, including other schools admitted students events. Whatever is going to happen with Oberlin is going to happen, so try to relax.

My D was admitted RD in 2009 (hard to believe it was two years ago). She applied to several colleges in addition to Oberlin, all of them RD including a couple of Ivies. We were out of town at two other colleges’ “admitted students” days. My D had fun at the other colleges and even bought hoodies from both schools, just in case. She’d long ago pushed Oberlin and other schools she had not heard from out of her mind. When we returned home, a big envelope from Oberlin was waiting in the mailbox. She had Cornell U and other very fine schools in her back pocket, but picked Oberlin because they offered a merit scholarship and because she decided that she liked Oberlin more than the other schools. She’s never regretted it.

Relax. Enjoy the acceptances you’ve already received. Assuming you were selective in applying to schools that fit your academic, career and personal interests, you will likely be happy at any of them. If it was meant to be, and if it is what you want, it will happen.

I think the Office of Admissions sometimes produces a little video showing themselves loading the admission letters into a truck, then celebrating afterwards. At least they did it two years ago. It was cute.

Plainsman - Yeah, I saw that one. It was pretty cute.
1st April, is the notification date, I believe.
And for domestic kids, yep; you’ll get your decisions by postal mail.
For internationals like me, e-mail will make/break my day!
Sigh.

yeah, from friend in california said she received their decision the saturday after they had mailed the decisions which was 2 or 3 days later, all in good time. however, this friday is going to be very interesting for me because vassar and wesleyan will post their decisions online and oberlin will be mailing out their decisions all on that day!! at the same time i will also be visiting another school, so this will be a big day =P

Any internationals who got an email yet? I was told that this year they would email decisions close to the 26th, which is coming soon…! I keep telling myself that no matter what happens, it’ll all be for the right reasons…but I want to get into Oberlin sooo bad x( Oh help. Good luck everyone!

I am an American living abroad with an unreliable mailing address. Does anyone know if I would be considered international? Would I receive notification by E-mail?
