Also, I know where you’re coming from about the guidance counselor situation. My counselor has only heard of one of the eight schools I applied to… good college counselors would really help at this point!

I didn’t send my letter in yet. I’m still working on it. It’s taking me a long time because I’m still debating over what to include. I feel like my chances of getting off the waitlist are slim, but I feel like my chances of getting accepted with FA is utterly impossible. I’m giving it a shot though, because I really feel like Bates sensed my passion in my “Why Bates?” essay. I love Bates, I just wish they loved me back a little more :(

I agree with the FA being frustrating! I don’t understand why they can’t be need blind when taking students off the waitlist, just like they are in the regular admissions round.

Karen and Claire:

So sorry to hear about you two. I’m an international student and I would like to join your group. In tis FA and Wait listing situation, I’m in the same parallel que. Bates has always been my first choice too and I’m giving it a shot. Fortunately, I just received the ‘Best business idea innovator’ of the City. I hope this would work though in addition to all other activities and credentials. Nonetheless, international students seeking FA + admission have very less chances.
Good luck to you guys =]

sooperman: you need to read the dates of these threads. Karen and Claire are happily enjoying their sophomore year somewhere right now – not checking out 2 year old threads when they were still HS students.

Dang! My Bad :(
