Waitlist letter, or simply a nice rejection??

so my girlfriend finally got her letter today. it said sorry, etc....but we have placed you on unranked waitlist. then they ask for her to send back this blue card asap to keep her place on the waitlist.

is this a rejection letter? or is there actually a rejection letter that mentions nothing about a waitlist?

There is a flat out rejection letter.

thanks sean

The unranked waitlist just means that everyone on the waitlist will be picked randomly for open spots in the class.

More info on their waitlist stats. Likely to be different this year.

got my waitlist letter

Decided not to go to Bing, Univ of Rochester instead. So there is a slot for somebody!

Mmmyeah, me too–going to Hopkins. Most of my friends are in the process of withdrawing their apps right now.

Thanks for withdrawing your apps. Most kids at my school just leave their applications alone at schools they are not going to. I think its inconsiderate and instead one should send a generic letter to all the schools they are not going to.

Anyways, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there are tons of people on the wait list.

A few kids in my school have sub 87 averages and 1150 SATs. They were put on the wait list.
