<p>also, lets do a poll of how many people updated their applications... i for one did update it (since i got a job at Sears and promoted to VP in a school club)</p>
<p>what's the point? We won't find out until after May 1st. They pretty much said in the wait list letter to expect notice in June. Then chances with any other school will be shot to h*** if we don't make a decision. If you are really interested then go for it, but you have to do better than a job and a spot in a club. Try to get some award. March around outside their admissions office with a big sign if you have to.</p>
<p>There is no way anyone will be accepted from the waitlist before May 1, because they must leave spaces open for the admitted students, should they choose to attend. If you want to attend WashU, what you should do is tell them you want to remain on the waitlist, and then send in your deposit to your second-choice school. It would also help to tell them that you're on the WashU waitlist. If you get in off the waitlist, you will lose the amount of the deposit, but you will be able to go to WashU; and if you don't, you'll still be able to go to a decent school (hopefully).</p>
