I got in John Hopkins University but I applied for fafsa a little bit late. I got a letter stating that most of the john hopkins funds have been already committed to admited students who applied for financial aid early. I have been waitlisted for financial aid and will be notified by April 28 about my financial aid. Does this mean that I most likely would not receive any financial aid or some or all? My efc is 0..thanks

Your financial aid may indeed be impacted because of late filing/paperwork submission. How adversely it will be effected is too hard to assess.

can i do this: do not start john hopkins in the fall but rather during the spring so that i receive the maximum financial aid?

since most finaid packages are for the full year I doubt that starting in spring would help but you could call and ask.

Contact the financial aid office again and ask them about this:

If your EFC is 0 then you need significant aid from somewhere. Don't accept JHU and just "expect" that the money will magically appear. Be sure that you have a financial safety locked into place that you can attend if JHU doesn't come up with the money you need.

Wishing you all the best.

thanks..i could not get into contact with JHU financial aid office.it kept sending me to an answering machine and even left a message but got no call back.
