<p>Schools like Davidson won't really know until after May 1 if they are going to the waitlist, since that is the acceptees' final reply date.</p>
<p>I also read that typically 10% of the class comes from the waitlist. Since they won't go to the waitlist until after May 1, though, you won't know for a few days ... or more ... if you are "chosen." You probably already know this, but you should have a deposit in somewhere & if you do get in off the waitlist, make sure you let the other school know right away. You will most likely lose your deposit money, though. Several of my D's schools made it clear on their acceptance forms that they expect your acceptance to be binding. In reality, what that means is that they won't return your deposit!</p>
