I was recently accepted into Wake Forest on a full ride and University of Virginia however I am awaiting my financial aid package. My end goal is to attend a top 14 law school and I am stuck between both schools because i know of uva for its prestige and name but i don’t think it’s the right fit for me as a caribbean student that is used to a smaller class setting with support which is found at Wake Forest.
Wake forest is actually ranked a bit above UVA. UVA is 28 in the nation and WFU is 27. Sure, wake isn’t as well known by most people, but top law schools will know the name. As far as class size, wake is much smaller and the teachers get to know you. Plus, the campus is way smaller which is super nice if you don’t want to walk thirty minutes one way for a class. Also, side note: 1/4 of the undergrad population is in the top 1% of wealth in the US at Wake. It’s kind of daunting but it will (probably) prep you for the career atmosphere that you’re headed into. And I don’t find it that bad, you just have to find your group. I’m wfu class of 2023 if you have any more questions. If you have a full ride here, I would definitely choose it. You can’t get a better deal (unless uva is also a full ride, then it’s purely whichever one you feel more comfortable with)
go to wake. definitely better than uva for you.
Both great! Congrats on your acceptances and a full ride to Wake is a big deal! Don’t know if you’re interested but Wake has one of the top Debate Teams in the country. They take that seriously. Good opportunity for someone going into law.
WFU for free is the better option as law school can be expensive.
