wondering if they will be taking kids off of the waitlist at all this year. I heard that it changes per year. Last year it seemed like a good number got off…
has anyone heard of any calls been made?
Nothing yet … waiting
No. Admissions said that they are unsure and likely won’t know until at least next week.
Ok so they think then after the May 1st deadline ?
Where did you hear this? Just curious.
Curious did you talk with someone at admissions recently about the waitlist status and when they might start calling ?
In past years, they started calling off around April 21st. There’s a rumor the earliest they’ll start calling is towards the end of this week
Does that rumor have any validity?
Anyone heard if any calls have been made ?
What’s the chance they start making calls today??
My son’s admission counselor said they will start looking next week to see if they will utilize the waitlist, so I don’t anticipate calls until then.
Hey! My child emailed their Regional Rep. & told him how he’s still interested in Wake and he was told that they haven’t made any decisions and will start looking at the Waitlist (if needed) after May 1.
has anyone contacted them to see when they will start calling people or how many people they think will get off the waitlist?
Has anyone received any calls yet ?
Duke began taking people off its waitlist last Thursday. Duke has a two-step process. First, it sends students who it is ready to make acceptance offers to an email. That email says:
Greetings from Duke!
We’ve recently begun reviewing applications of students on our waiting list, and we noticed that you updated your file earlier this month, so we wanted to check in.
If your interest in Duke remains strong, please complete [this form]
Alternatively, if you are happy with your current choice of college, please reply to this email, and we’ll remove your name from our waiting list (and congratulations on the successful conclusion of your college search!).
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any questions.
Is the email sent by Duke preceding its offers intended to keep its yield high? If so, does Wake Forest essentially do the same thing in its telephone calls to students it is ready to make an offer to prior to making that offer? In other words, does a student who sounds insufficiently enthusiastic about Wake at the beginning of the call risk not getting an offer?
Is it a good sign if the financial aid office asks me for additional documents?
Yes! Good Luck:)
So do you think that they might start making calls later today?
Thank you!
