I’m an incoming freshman without access to the campus at the moment. I’ve just noticed that two classes that are in the same building one day (Diffenbaugh) are separate on another (Diffenbaugh and HWC) and I only have 15 minutes to get there. Google Maps says it’s a 13 minute walk, which would leave me no time when adding in time it takes to get in and out of buildings. However, the Google Maps route seems a little weird as it takes me in what looks like an unnecessary direction.
Does anyone have any knowledge about how long this walk actually is? We were told at orientation that 15 minutes is more than enough to get to most places, but I’m not sure if I should try to replace this class with something else to avoid being late every day.
You certainly can do that walk in 15 minutes, but you’ll probably have to hustle sometimes.
If you’re worried about it, once you get on campus, make the trek yourself one day before classes start, or even the first day where you have to make that walk. If you do time it and realize there’s no way you’ll make it in 15 minutes, you’ll want to switch.
Personally, that wouldn’t be enough time for me to feel comfortable. There will almost certainly be a time where you will want/need to stay a couple minutes after to have a question answered or the class runs a couple minutes long for something, and then you’re already late to the next class.
