I want to go to a top law school after college. I also would like to work on wall street for at least 3 years. Are there good paying legal jobs on wall street for jd holders maybe legal counsel or something like that? I am currently a junior right now and I'm considering applying to duke, upenn and some others.Thank you for your help in advance.

If you don’t get into T14, forget it. If you do get into T14, make sure you graduate top third of your class. Otherwise, forget it.

Oh, you’re a junior in high school. Long way off. Go to wherever you can get the best grades, because GPA and LSAT are everything.

The legal profession has totally changed, like a lot of others, and a JD is no longer an automatic ticket to a good secure job. You need to read the various law school forums to find out what’s happening today.

Pretty much what he said. Do not go to a school that’s outside the top 14 (or really anything that’s below Cornell or Chicago) unless it has strong regional placement (e.g. University of Texas) or you’re getting a very lucrative scholarship. Whatever you do, don’t pay full price for a second-rate law school because you’ll be saddled with $200k in debt (which is likely what it will reach by the time you get there) and you’ll have sketchy at best job prospects.

That being said, if you do graduate from a good law school, you usually need a few years of law firm experience before most corporations will hire you.
