Several companies offer different programs, such as Starbucks, McDonalds and Chipolte. Each of these programs are different from the other; some offer free on-line accredited college programs, others offer money towards tuition, some offer either/or. The amount of time required as an employee before you qualify for the program differs. These can be really terrific programs and are very well worth looking into. Some people look down their noses at these McJobs, but you can learn good work habits, how to deal with customers, and other skills.
A chance for a degree from UFlorida or Purdue, among others, is great. Nice to have good news.
One kiddo has been applying for part time jobs, which for many employers requires creating an online account. Strangely can’t get the Walmart online system to work!
Kid ended up getting the job offer and now I’m curious what the ACT/SAT prep benefits are.
Unless things have changed, I believe Wal-Mart used to require that you major in supply chain management or something like that in order to get help with tuition. Still a good deal for the right kid, but I would read the fine print.
They have broadened the potential majors.
