Sorry, i know this should be posted in the "What Are My Chances" Thread but I posted in there a while ago and there have still been no responses:

still a junior going to a great high school (top 10 in NY)
GPA: 3.5 (90.5-91) unweighted
SAT's: 2250
SATII: bio-660 level II math - 720

freshman year: regular classes
sophmore: all honors
junior: honors precalc, AP Eng/U.S. History
senior (most probably): 4 AP's (calc, economics, psych, science), creative writing/shakespear (half year english courses), language

sports: football, track year round
volunteer hours: 100+ at a hospital

my essays are pretty much solid.. not based on just my opinion but others have said that as well and my teacher recommendations are great

so.. with all that info above "What Are My Chances?"
- UPenn (ultimate reach lol.. hey, you never know)
- Boston College
- Dartmouth University (NH)
- University of Michigan
- Duke University

You already have your essays done?

haha yeah im the youngest of 3 in the family and both my brother and sister told me to get all my college things done early so i dont have to stress later on.. they helped me out with it so there not complete yet but yeah their pretty much done

like you said, upenn, dartmouth, and duke are going to be streches but i think you have a chance of getting into any of those schools you listed

I'll be the devil's advocate here and say you need to add some safeties. Are you varsity or captain in any of your sports? awards? leadership? I'm seeing a huge gap in that area that could hurt you in your upper reaches.

BC is a an upper match. Are you instate for UMich? If you are, that's a great match, especially if you send your application in early (i'm pretty sure it's rolling).

You definitely need some more balance to your list though. You have 3 reaches and 2 matches and no safeties! My best advice to a junior is to fall in love with your safety! My sister just randomly picked her safety schools out of a college book and when she got rejected by yale and stanford, she was devastated! I, on the other hand, picked 3 safeties that I love and I'm in a much better position than she was.

It's Dartmouth College, not Dartmouth University. Lol.

I think you have a chance at all, but I'd try to raise those SAT II scores.

I agree CurrySpice but this isn't my entire list of colleges that im gona be applying to I'm definitely having safeties like Northeastern and BU but I'm pretty confident that ill get into schools like that so I was just listing some reach schools that I was interested in and seeing what you guys thought about them. Also, im captain of both varsity football and track, and im also the leader of both my youth group and altar serving at my church if that counts for anything.

and yeah concrete sorry I keep confusing the two of them.. but i know my SAT IIs arent that high. My biology score I won't be able to change because I know NOTHING about bio anymore lol but math its possible, what kind of increase are we talking about ?

I actually think that those are all reaches for you except for BC and maybe Michigan which are in your range. Your SAT scores are good but your GPA isn't quite as high.

I just moved your post to the Chances forum, where all chances posts belong.

The way to get more responses in the Chances forum is to: respond to others' chances posts (people tend to respond to people who have responded to their posts), become a more active poster on CC forums in general(people tend not to respond to people who seem to be drive by posters) and have an interesting title that draws peoples' attention.
