Want Engineer but didnt take physics

If i didnt take physics during high school, is it possible for me to take physics during freshman year, then transfer into engineering school in sophomore year?

You wouldn’t have to “transfer” schools. All freshmen are kept together for the First Year Studies program. Then you choose your school sophomore year. As a part of the general curriculum, I believe you need two science courses, so you can certainly take physics freshman year, before entering the College of Engineering.

It’s true you are in FYS your first year, but if you are going into science or engineering, you have to make sure you are taking the right courses to be able to finish your major on time, you can’t just pick any random sciences to fulfill the requirement or you will be behind. As a freshman engineer, I believe you do take 2 semesters of physics as well as an intro to engineering course. But I’m not completely sure what the requirements are, you should check with the department.

I have several friends who are majoring in engineering and are taking Physics right now without having taken AP in high school. I believe you take Physics I your second semester of freshman year and then Physics II the following semester, so there’s nothing to worry about. When you indicate Engineering (whatever kind) on your initial major, you will automatically be put on track to take the class in that sequence.
