Want to Study Abroad Senior Year

So, I have been thinking about studying abroad since 9th grade and I want to see if I can take advantage of it now. I was going to try to study abroad during 11th but I held back because of Junior year being pretty important for me. I have looked at a few sites and saw AFS had a Year long program in japan(the place I really want to go), but I have a few important questions with college and graduation. So, as it turns out this program goes from March, 2018 all the way to February 2019. The questions I have are this:

  1. Graduation(for me) is in May of 2018, would that affect me graduating? and would I run into any MAJOR problems?
  2. I plan to go to college, so I would not be returning till 2019. How would this affect my college applications? Can I apply during my time in Japan and return to my first semester in 2019? Or would I simply not be able to apply until I returned?
3.If anyone has done senior year programs(it would be an even greater help if you went to japan), how did it affect you?
  3. What is the best Abroad program?

Basically, I am still researching this stuff. I would LOVE to visit a new country and get out of the states for awhile before I start my college studies. Im not sure how risky this is, and if it is worth it. If you have any advice that can help me out, please reply:) it would mean a lot.

I assume your parents can afford to pay for this. Why not wait to study abroad in college?

Your best bet may be to take a gap year, or graduate early. Check out NSLI-Y (National Security Language Initiative for Youth), YES Abroad (Kennedy Lugar Yourh Exchange and Study), and CBYX (Congress Bundestag Youth Exchange). These are all free scholarship programs, funded by the department of state. If you don’t meet their eligibility requirements at the time of application or want a paid program to fall back on, AFS seems to be the largest and most reputable, followed by YFU and Rotary.

Ty for all the replies, I have decided to move forward into college and(if I find an opportunity) study abroad during college:)

You can take home tuition in Ahmedabad to increase your chances to study abroad senior year. https://www.qriyo.com/home-tuition-ahmedabad

My kid did this one summer, but the deadline is today for next summer. But for others who might be reading this thread:
