Wanting to talk about an EC more?

There is only one EC where I really need more room to clarify what I did. The details and accomplishments part of the EC Activities would not give me enough room to talk about what I actually did and what I accomplished.

In that case, attaching a resume wouldn't really be ideal cause I wouldn't be be saying anything new except for that one EC.

Can I use the section where I elaborate on one extracurricular to talk about what I did there in an interesting, narrative kind of way. That way I can highlight more of what I did there in addition to fulfilling that writing requirement.

OR...

Would colleges not acknowledge the things I did as things I actually did because I didn't actually list them in the EC Activities section? I'm not sure if colleges will take my accomplishments in this EC as seriously if I only list them in the paragraph and not the EC Activities section where it actually allows me to do this.

What does everyone think?

if its only 1 EC you really want to talk about, there is an EC short answer section right after the list of activities. That would be your best option, since colleges don’t really like seeing a resume.

That’s what I was thinking. However, I was just wondering if colleges would raise eyebrows because I did not state that I did “so and so” in the EC Activities section but then I went on to state it in the EC short answer.

I could see it potentially being an issue.

Definitely talk about it in your EC essay. However, it also has to be mentioned on the list ofextracurriculars! Just try to do your best to briefly summerize what you do and then the essay will bring the point home.

Good luck!

Yeah try to put the most important positions/details on the actual list. Then you can elaborate more on those details as well as be more specific about your duties/responsibilities on the short answer portion.
