I received the talent supplement and mentioned my international/national gold medals and my 13 yr. experience in Taekwondo.

On Monday, I saw my name in the CalNet database for “current students” the day that Berkeley apparently “leaked” some of their acceptances online. (see other thread)

I consider myself very lucky and blessed if the statement, that if you saw your name on the CalNet database then you’re accepted, is true.

@fingerscrossed11 i have really bad allergies… it’s like a sneezing disorder (i sneeze like every few minutes for no reason) but that’s all lol. i don’t know if i’ll get in cuz it seems like a mild medical condition! im sorry about your arm. good luck to you! hopefully we can all make it.

Oh God, I hope we all make it in, guys. I’ll meet you guys over there if we get in, haha.

@momfirst3: did you push him to do all of that?

@jarias93: ah, it’d be awesome if we all got in! i mean, we DO put a lot of energy into stalking these forums! it deserves some kind of reward! :P

No, I did not push him to do any of it. I’m not that kind of mom. I actually encouraged him to take fewer AP classes, but he would have nothing to do with it. He is very gifted in many areas and he has always been very driven. I always told my kids that as long as they gave their best effort, it was good enough for me. With my youngest, his best was extraordinary. My middle child, had a 3.93 and went to LMU. My oldest went to a JC for a year and transfered to USD. I am proud of all of them. They all chose their own path and did what was right for them. Pushing my children is not something I would ever do.

@momfirst3: You sound like a great mom, and you have an amazing bunch of children!

Thanks, I appreciate that. I work very hard at being a good mom. I truly enjoy being a mom and raising all three. I enjoy their company and their friends. We have a lot of fun together. It’s very rewarding seeing them all heading into their adult life and becoming independent. It’s been quite a journey. I hope you all follow your heart and do what you think is best for you. Life is short. You only have one shot at it. Go for your dreams and make the best of all your opportunities. Good luck tomorrow!

@trancelation, oh damn. I totally didn’t think of calling. I also received the UCLA supplemental, but didn’t get in :/

@laurennn123: I would call tomorrow. Whether it’s too late or not, it could make a difference, and you can at least say you tried. Don’t beat yourself up over it! :)

Haha okay. So just call in morning (because aren’t they out at 12?) and say “Hey, so I know it’s really late and decisions are out today, but I wanted to ask something about my supplemental application. I received the disability one, but I don’t remember ever reporting one.”?
(:

Sounds about right. It’d be cool if they let you fill out the right supplemental form before they post their decision before 4! :P

Oh man. That would be intense. But I can see some tired undergrad picking up and just rolling their eyes :p

hahah, it would be a dream come true if we get accepted! ahh! is ucb your first choice?

S got the disability supplement, worked really hard on it with good recommendation letter from his teacher and got in too. According to the Hout Report from 2005, Berkeley sent out such supplement to ALL applicants with disabilities, but I am not sure they were doing it this year as I knew a few applicants with disabilities did not get the supplement from Berkeley.
