I just got my PSAT scores back and I actually dropped 40 points from last year. Freshmen year I got 184, and this year I got a 144!

Did the test get harder?
Did I get dumber?
Did I get lazier?

Sigh =/

Standardized tests RARELY vary that much. When people say "harder"/"easier" it is usually by 1-2 points over a national level

You probably just didn't take it as seriously. It only takes missing like 10-15 more questions to dramatically lower your score..

you still have junior year

I thought the actual test was pretty hard but the curve was nice for CR I had 4 or 5 omits and 3 wrong and got a 66 and for math I had 2 omits and 5 wrong for a score of 67. Writing, I was just incredibly exhausted and lazy so I can't say whether it was easy or hard.

I went from a 160ish to a 200 this year. Go figure.

Thats a dramatic drop! Are you sure you didn't misbubble?

Don't worry, this test has nothing much to deal with intelligence, so don't feel like you've gotten dumber.

Eh, I wouldn't know, this was my first year exposed to such a standardized test, so it was a bit murky to me, plus I've never woken up that early, so I ended with a 205 (80M, 55CR, 70W).

Do better next year, really, from skimming through the test during test day I've noticed that it's full of patterns so a quick decent review would probably ensure a high score.

I would take a 144 over a 143 any day. Course...I haven't taken the psat in like 2 yrs.

doubt it.. I went from a 189 --> 226
