It’s funny, I said all the “good” things at one of my prestigious internships - and meant them! - and was actually still trashed by my bosses (behind my back of course). HR had a field day with my department when we all filed complaints after leaving (or being harassed into quitting for my two co-interns). That team wouldn’t have run without any of us interns, and they still treated us like we were some second-class people.

“Natalie, we have an emergency.” (run around the entire arena after trashing $20 worth of uneaten lunch) “Can you get that puck, right there? Thanks.” The puck was literally within arms reach. He only wanted me to hand it to him. We won’t even discuss how several of our bosses defamed us. And no, I’m not working 130+ unpaid hours a week to wrap your Christmas gifts. A union really isn’t a bad idea once you’ve been on the other end & aren’t some poor interns’ boss anmore. Just a hint, saying, behind my back, to boot, “look at her handicap, do you think she can actually DO anything?” is not what your HR deparment likes to hear.

We have just as many horror stories about you employers as you do about us interns. =D
