WashU or Vanderbilt?

I am currently a student at Vandy and I enjoy it but...not quite my scene. Ive posted before but now that I know ive been accepted to WashU as a transfer its time to make that decision. I know the decision should be mine and mine alone but outside opinions are always helpful. That being said, I am not paying much at Vandy with scholarship and grants and though I did get scholarship at WashU I will prob end up paying double (around 10,000) which isnt so bad.
My major is PoliSci and maybe a double major in Philosophy and am hoping to go to law school. So objectively, academically, prestige-wise,law school placement, etc. Which would you choose?

though I did apply to Penn as well, and if I get into Penn I am def going haha

Thanks for the input guys

Unless you're independently wealthy, abandoning a near-full ride in exchange for a bigger tuition bill (2X) is financially unwise, particularly since both Vanderbilt and Washington University are of high caliber. Also, you have invested two years of hard work and achievement at VU; the next two years will be over before you realize it (if you concentrate on the positive).

I would stay at Vandy

In terms of presige and the effect your undergrad will make on law school admission, there is not a lot of difference between WashU and Vanderbilt.

At the same time, WashU has considerably better PoliSci department (not sure about Philosophy) and it is a lot easier to double-major there. There might be also somewhat easier to get a higher GPA at WashU which is very important for law school admissions.

Also, if you are not happy at Vandy, the difference of 10K over 2 years is not that significant and you will do a lot better academically if you are happy.

0.1 - 0.2 difference in GPA might result in 20-30K (or more) difference in law school scholarships you might be offered or getting into a lot higher ranked law school (very important for employment later).

My vote if for Washu IF you feel that it is a better fit for you.

If you went through the whole application procedure as a transfer (quite a bit of trouble), you must have good reasons to want to change. Since it did work out with admission and aid at Wash U, you should go. If lately, you have begun to like Vandy more, and have changed your mind, then stay. I would say that there is no difference between the two for law school admissions. Professors may know you better if you stay at Vandy, and that may help with recommendations.
