WashU St Louis or Vanderbilt

I am admitted to WashU and waitlisted by Vanderbilt. Is it worth to wait? If admitted, which one should I attend? Which school is better?
School: Art and Science.

Based on your prior threads & posts, this thread is a bit misleading as you are a transfer student entering junior year.

As to which school is better, that depends upon your major & affordability.

@Publisher I am a second-year transfer. For now, I am only comparing the quality of the school itself rather than the major. I will decide the major by the end of the second year. Do not apply to financial aid, so cost is not part of the consideration.

What is a “second year transfer” ? Does that mean that you are completing your second year at your current university, or that you are transferring for your second year of college ?

Either way, both WashUStL & Vanderbilt are great universities. As to which is better still depends upon your area of study. Also depends upon what you are seeking that was not present at your current school, or what you are trying to avoid.

@Publisher entering before the second year. Both schools are small and that’s exactly what I am looking for, both schools are elite institutions. I just hope to get another opinion on where to choose.
My professor told me WashU is better, my friends believe that Vanderbilt is a better fit for me.

Quit worrying about quality and prestige. They are both high quality. At which school do you see yourself fitting in? Where do you think you could be happier? Would you rather live in St. Louis or Nashville? Where do you think you might want to live post graduation?

Why do your friends think that Vanderbilt is a better fir for you ?

What potential major?

These are both outstanding universities. You have to determine which one is better for YOU.

your Professor is wrong and your friends are wrong.

Both are excellent. Can you visit?

Absent a major, personally I’d go with Vandy as it is D1, and is in downtown. But neither maybe important to you.

I wouldn’t classify either school as “small”, Vandy has a total enrollment (under and postgrad) of over 12,500 students, WashU has over 15,000.

If sports are important to you, Vandy is the easy choice, being in the legendary Southeastern Conference. Sports are something of an afterthought at NCAA Division III WashU.

Vanderbilt offers strong Greek life, but no residential fraternities or sororities anymore. About half of Vanderbilt’s undergrads join a frat or sorority.
Wash U is about 35% Greek.
