wasted applicaton effort?

Georgetown is a school that I really admire, and I know that if I got accepted there, I would definitely attend. However, I kind of feel that the school might be a stretch for me. My unweighted GPA is about 3.7, weighted about 4.1, and I am retaking the ACT and hoping to get a 32 or better (now its a 30). However, I do not know if I feel very confident about getting in because there is an interview!

I am absolutely terrible at interviews, everytime that I have interviewed for a job I have never gotten it. Any advice here? Also, I was looking on the Georgetown website and there are so many applications to fill out! I kind of feel like if I am not positive that I will get in, then I should not even bother with this dream school. Will I be wasting my time applying here?

I’m not going to pretend that I know a lot about Georgetown and college admission chances, but IMO a 3.7 isn’t too low. For ACT, just make sure you take practice tests and study what you get wrong.

I think that if you have a dream school, you should definitely apply. For confidence, practice interviewing every day, wear something comfortable to the interview, and embrace who you are, because your personality is supposed to shine. It would help others evaluate you if you posted ECs and stuff, but idk.

If you can apply early to Georgetown, do it. Just because you don’t know if you can get in doesn’t mean you shouldn’t apply. The only schools that people apply to that they know they’ll be accepted to are their safeties. No one applies to only safeties. You’re allowed to have a few reaches. :stuck_out_tongue: Have faith.
