Wavelength and Frequency Questions in Princeton Review Page 468

On the Princeton Reivew page 468 there is a Wavelength and Frequency question.

Wavelength (centimeters (100cm =1m)) goes from 10^5, 10^3, 10^-1, etc. It goes this direction from left to right. The book says that the wavelength is increasing. Ho wis it increasing if the Wavlength in centimeters is smaller?

Then for Frequence (cyclcels per second) it goes from 10^6, 10^5.... 10^14, etc. This is goin from left to right.
The book says that it is decreasing. How is it decreasing if the cycles are getting more per second?

Thanks
