I am a Math major who is thinking of becoming a Math profesor. I really love airplanes, so I was wondering if, I were to become a professor, there are any topics/areas I would be able to focus my research on that were relevant to flying/aerodynamics? What types of things could I reseach?

I would say Aerospace Engineering since Physics already encompasses a lot of math topics.

Vibrational analysis, fuel consumption, trajectory design and many other topics show up from a quick search of “mathematical modeling airplanes”.
