We all here the positives, but what about the negatives?

Hi all.
So im currently a freshman at CSUMB and in the process of trying to transfer to one of the UC for Fall of 2010.

Iv read a lot of posts regarding whats good about this school, and whats great about that one, but I did not stumble across to many that mentioned the negative aspects of some of the UC's.

soooo i was wondering
if you can help me out

if you can state a fact or two about what you DONT like about your UC
partically:
UCSD
UCD
UCLA
and
UCI

it can range from anything like mantaince has their leaf blower on too early in the morning, to the school is empty during the weekends

it doesnt matter
but also if you could add a fact or two about what you ABSOLUTLY LOVE about the place

anything you guys have to say will really help me out!!
thank you soooo much :)

UCLA has terrible guest parking, street parking is rare, and any of the lots require you to pay 9 dollars, regardless of how long your staying.

i dont think this is the place to ask that… you should go directly to the other UC pages. we’re all trying to GET INTO these schools, and most of us are from CCC’s so we dont really have a feel on this. we only know the tip of the iceberg

UCSD… no social life
UCD… too many cows
UCI… too many asians

UCLA is the best!

ucsb… too many stds!

Stay at CSUMB and learn the difference between here and hear.

I know the difference.
It was an accident.

lolz!

Always so serious when it comes to racial comments. Take a chill pill.

ladybug, what is your planned major?

Although it’s unrelated to the topic…

You should go to MPC for next year, your “chances” will increase because it’s easier to transfer from a CC than a CSU.

As of now its Environmental Policy, but I am thinking of switching to Bio

Many would probably recommend UCSC, UCD, or maybe UCSD for those majors if you do not make Berkeley.

UCSD: two words…TRITON EYE

UCSD… no social life

are you serious?

haha, SECOND to caucasions? UC Irvine has a MAJORITY asian population (higher than 50%!!). The dominant race at UCSD, UCLA and Berkeley is Asian. The UC system created two categories for “minority” because of the Asian majority – “minority” and “underserved minority.”
Not that this is a big deal, I just thought I’d point it out. I found out the other day that UCLA’s undergrad class is 43% asian. I knew it was high, but I gotta admit, I was a little surprised… so I decided to look into it further, and figured I’d share some of my findings!

and, for the OP, I would suggest you follow krnnoodle’s advice, all you’re going to get here is rumors and hearsay.

thank you for all the responces!
and yes, i just posted one in the UC general

not to be “negative” or anything lol but isnt it almost impossible to transfer from a CSU to a UC? i was planning on going to a CSU for my first two years but heard the transfer rate is reallllly low so decided not to

My friend who goes to SF State got into UCSB and UCSD for policsci this year, he’s still waiting on decisions from UCLA/Cal. It’s hard but possible.
