Weather Delaying Admissions Decisions?

How late do you guys this decisions will be because of the closures? The voicemail says the first week of February…

what voicemail?

I am wondering this too. They said they were “finalizing decisions” on Instagram on Thurs night in a comment on one of their pictures. But on twitter they keep saying “by Feb 1” so it’s not looking too good for this week. They are closed on Monday.
Do you guys think they could still come Tues? Would they release them on a Wed or Thurs?

The other option is to just be patient and wait it out. Lol but we all know that is tough

I live about an hour away from UMD. This storm is a complete disaster for the area. I don’t think anyone knows yet if decisions will be affected.

I heard Jan 29th

@laughandlearn23 When you call the admissions office the hold recording says they will be out the first week of February…

@nvaughan75 by feb 1 or during the first week of feb?

@litlhoward2468 First week of February.

When I called I did not hear any mesaage

@laughandlearn23 Call their admissions office and wait for the second round of “Thank you for calling the university of Maryland Office of admissions.” I just did in case I misheard, but it was there

@nvaughan75 they keep stating “by Feb 1” on social media so if it says the first week in Feb on the phone, then I guess the release date is most likely Feb 1

I don’t think they know.

This massive storm cost as yet untold dollars in destruction. As of this morning, 31 people lost their lives. The Jersey Shore saw flooding that rivaled-- and in some cases, surpassed, the devastation caused by Sandy.

I read somewhere-- sorry, I forget where-- that totals could hit the million dollar mark.

In short, getting those acceptances out are at the very very bottom of a very long list of priorities. The first priority is making sure everyone in harm’s way gets the help they need. Then the attempt to take care of property losses. Then the obligation to take care of the needs of current students. Then, much, much later, to get those acceptances out.

I realize that you’re watching your email every second, waiting for those acceptances. And that, for you, this is incredibly important.

But, big picture, it’s not a high priority. They’ll get to it when they can get to it.

just heard that results will come out on feb 5th

But they issued a tweet yesterday afternoon stating the office would reopen tomorrow and decisions would still be out by Feb 1.

From the Admissions Twitter > Yes, we still plan to release decisions by Feb. 1. If there are any changes or delays, we will provide updates.

.@maidofmusic Yes, email decision comes first (by 2/1) & lists all admission details. Bad roads won’t affect getting your email on time

Seriously’’’ “where are they??”

Someone out there in cyberspace has no idea of his/her place in the world.

I just spoke to a live human at UMD admissions. Applicats will receive an email on February 1st directing them to a link where they will find their decision. Good luck to everyone!!

@mindfulmama so not “by Feb 1” anymore? Then looks like we have to patient for a few more days
