Ok, So i current attend a really competitive HS in TX (GPA's go into the 5.1, 5.2 Weighted) and Let's say your Class Rank is in the top 5% but your Weighted GPA is more than some of the valedictorians of other schools, Is Rice going to look more on the fact your class rank is not that high and possibly reject you or are they going to see that your weighted GPA is really good since you go to a competitive school?

I think you worry too much. That's what I think.

Class rank is more important. Comparing GPAs, especially weighted ones, between schools is basically meaningless. That said, top 5% is an enviable rank, and I agree that you worry too much.

Once you're up there, they don't care. I don't think the difference between a 99 and a 97 will make or break you. Once you're at a certain level of academic achievement, it becomes really hard to differentiate between 2 applicants with similar GPA's... which is when the holistic part of the process comes in. They'll evaluate your essays, EC's, letters of rec, etc, and I think those things will end up counting more towards your admission or rejection.

Good luck :)
