Okay, so I recently decided not to join the military. I decided to join last summer and was slated to ship out to boot camp this summer. However, due to the recruiter not being able to get me the job I signed up for I have now decided to go to college like I originally planned. However, this has left me in a sort of crappy position as most college applications were due several months ago, and as I am already a year behind due to being in military limbo, i would prefer not to wait until the spring or next fall to go to school. I also don't want to end up going to a, for lack of a better word, crappy school.

I dont have an exact GPA at the moment, but my high school GPA is anywhere from 3.5 up to and including 3.75 weighted. Kind of low I know, but I had laziness problems in high school. :P However, my SAT is 740 critical reading and 660 math.

I am looking for recommendations of a good school whose application date has not passed. (Yes I know my choices are pretty limited) I'm looking to transfer after my first year to a better school so I'm not sure how much my major matters but I want to major in Finance, Computer Science, Econ, or Math i think. Any recommendations of good schools for me would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Santa Monica College and other Cali community colleges are great and allow you to work your way up to places like UCLA. I recommend Santa Monica College greatly.

Thanks for the reply. I’ll check it out. Does anyone have any information on CUNY?

Your stats are fine. You don’t have to attend a crappy school.

Clemson’s deadline is 5/1. A list comes out the second week of May of schools for schools that still have openings. There are often some very good schools on that list.

What state do you live in? How much can you afford to pay?

CUNY schools are basically commuter schools in NYC. Some of them could be a decent option.

Here is one list of late-deadline schools: [List of Late Deadline Schools- Locate Colleges with Late Application Deadlines at Petersons.com](http://www.petersons.com/college-search/late-deadline-schools.aspx)

In early May the colleges and universities that did not fill all of their spaces will share that information at [NACAC Homepage](http://www.nacacnet.org/Pages/default.aspx) Someone here will find the exact link, and post it. The list will include the number of freshman spaces and transfer spaces available, as well as whether or not any financial aid is available.

Do you have a signed contract for the military? Are you sure you can just go to college?

Thanks guys, I did not know such a list existed. I live in Texas, and as for how much I can afford to spend, I don’t have any saved money and neither do my parents so I’m relying on grants and student loans to pay for everything.

Also as for my contract, I am in the DEP and still have to option to drop out anytime before i ship to boot camp so it wont be a problem.
