Sounds great! To be honest, I chose DePaul over Loyola, Arizona State, Northern Arizona, and the University of Arizona because I felt that they have the best business program of the group as well as the top recruiting. It is not common for a school to have such big name firms recruiting their students, and I applaud DePaul for that. It goes to show how well our professors prepare the students. I cannot wait until June 28th!

Hi,
Our DD has been accepted and is trying to figure out finances. She would love to get an oncampus job, but will not qualify for work study as our EFC is too high. I have been told by other colleges that there are very slim options for nonwork study students on campus - what is it like at DePaul? she is interested and has experience in tutoring elementary students, and is considering a major in business or education. Thanks!

Hi jmyers17! My husband is a DePaul Grad and we are excited that DePaul is our son’s #1 choice thus far. Son has a weighted GPA of 4.35 (unweighted 4.0), 32 on the pre-ACT (waiting to take actual one in April, he is a junior), National Honor Society, AP Classes, lots of extracurriculars (including sports and academics), is an Eagle Scout and has hundreds of community service hours (including 2 mission trips). He is interested in majoring in either Actuarial Science/Finance/Accounting. With this being said (I know you cannot commit and I promise not to hold you to it, LOL), could my son possibly be a candidate for the Presidential Scholarship? We will definitely need merit aid in order for DePaul to be plausible. Could he receive more than one merit scholarship? One last thing…son is looking into majoring in Actuarial Science. DePaul just added this major last Fall (2015). We have a hesitancy as far as DePaul not having a proven program yet. U of I and Illinois State both have proven programs in Actuarial Science and are the only two CAE schools in Illinois (Center for Actuarial Excellence). We read an article stating DePaul’s goal is to be one of the first CAE schools in Chicago. While I believe DePaul will get there at some point, there is a hesitancy as far as him being in the program now …when he could probably attend U or I or ISU (CAE schools with proven programs) for much less than DePaul (unless he gets a lot of merit aid). Any advice you could give would be helpful. Thank you so much!
